"Free Trade" which many Americans seem to glorify about this country is not as beneficial to you and I as it may seem.
"Free Trade" is Free and Beneficial in return for destroying many of our home lands where our great- grandparents, grandparents, or even our parents originated from.
The US imposes High tariff to protect our trade and economy , but what about the economy of the third world countries and the soil in which we make our riches while stripping the homeland of those who cannot even have the luxury of living from paycheck to paycheck ?
As Americans we live in ignorance and have done so for many years the economic crisis has awaken some of us but only to the problems we face, because of coarse we can't afford vacations and road trips and parties and such.
My only question is what will it take us to realize that while we are greatly affected now that the pain we are feeling by the economic crisis is absolutely nothing compared to that of many nations that have faced a punch in the guts to their economy as far back as the beginning of Free Trade and Colonization.
But lets take a step back and focus on US as Americans and take a look at the abuses the Corportations make onto our society and lives.

It's sad to see that Corporations come before people and that our government puts profit over people because it has been infected and plagued by lobbyist that represent not me and you but multimillion corporations.
So if you don't want to take a look on how America affects the world and how much power our government has lost to corporations take a look on how your own lives are being affected. It is our voice that gives the government power but with our apathy and lack of care corporation have stripped us from those decisions.
Turn off MTV or the OXYGEN channel and FOx news or any popular media and use tools such as google, the library, independent news papers, scholars such as Noam Chomsky. And gain power through Knowledge. Because there is something we can do if not for the world. For our selves and eventually it will be like a domino effect and real Change will be possible.
